About NCLEWA
The NCLEWA is a non-profit organization dedicated to maintaining
professionalism of women in law enforcement. The organization was
chartered in 1956 and continues to flourish throughout the state.
NCLEWA is dedicated to
providing up-to-date informative training which will be used by
the membership in performing their duties and
in general day to day living. The training is coordinated through
the Community College System and/or the North Carolina Justice Academy.
The NCLEWA holds quarterly Board Meetings which are held at different
locations throughout the state to make it more convenient for members.
Purpose and Objectives
The purpose and objectives of the NCLEWA are:
- To enhance professionalism
of policewomen in North Carolina.
- To promote cooperation and coordination of activities among law
enforcement agencies throughout the state.
- To strengthen the contributions of women
to the field of law enforcement in the state.
- To provide a forum for discussion of means
to attain the above objectives.
