Association Articles of Incorporated Bylaws

Section 1
The North Carolina Law Enforcement Women's Association shall grant the Durham area members of the Association of the Association a chapter. The name of the chapter is the North Carolina Law Enforcement Women's Association Triangle Chapter.


Section 2
The Triangle Chapter shall abide by the bylaws of this Association to include its amendments.

A) The Triangle Chapter shall meet monthly.

B) Any member of the Triangle Chapter holding an elected office who fails to attend four consecutive meetings shall be relieved of the office. After four consecutive unexcused absences, the President shall appoint someone to fill that office until the August meeting where the general membership shall vote on that office.

C) Annual dues shall be $15.00 per active and associate member. Each member is required to maintain an active membership with the State Association.

D) A new member (active or associate) voted on after May who submitted dues, shall be considered as a member until August of the next year when her/his dues become payable again.

E) Qualifications for holding office: THe three year consecutive membership stipulation for the office of President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Executive Director and Board of Directors shall be waived until August 1999.

F) The Triangle Chapter training day shall be held in August and arranged by the training committee. Each member attending all training classes will be awarded a certificate displaying hourly credit earned for the training. Certificates shall be given to each attendee at the conclusion of the training day.

G) North Carolina Law Enforcement Women's Association Retraining Conference. The President or her designee shall attend the annual North Carolina Law Enforcement Women's Association Retraining Seminar. If the President is unable to attend, her designee will represent the Triangle Chapter. The Triangle Chapter shall pay $100.00 toward seminar expenses of the above attendee.

H) The Forgotten Residents Programs shall be maintained by an annual donation of $30.00 to a triangle area recipient designated by the State of North Carolina Department of Human Resources, Division of Mental Health Services.
