Call to Order

The NCLEWA business meeting was held at Golden Corral in Greensboro. The meeting was called to order by President Allen at 12:20 p.m. and the invocation was given. Odessa Long conducted the roll call of the Association's officers.

Minutes:

Not read nor available at this time. They will be emailed to the President by Ret. Sgt. Long on this date. Agenda distributed.

President advised that she had been in touch with the Treasurer, Wanda Holland and by phone was advised that there is $4,485.45 in the bank. Wanda also has possession of 2 (two) Checks that were submitted for last Year conference. The checks should be returned to the issuing official and/or determine if the checks should be applied to this year conference.

No new membership application have been submitted. Wanda Holland is ill with a torn ACL.

2006 Training Conference

 

King size bed 59.75 and a double bed is 69.75. A luncheon Speaker for Sept. 28 has not been contacted nor confirmed but will be contacted this week. Lt. Patsy Lightle has consented and approval from her Chief has been acknowledged. She will be our banquet speaker on Sept. 29,2006. The Souvenir Book and Banquet Program were discussed. Training also was discussed. Per Lorraine Galloway- NC Justice Academy- training is available in handling meth labs, defensive tactics, police ethics, gang activity, drug recognition. The NCLEWA Conference date should also be placed on Justice Academy website.

President drafted a letter requesting financial donations and door prizes from local businesses. It was suggested that a return address be included in her letter and a phone number for further questions. A date to respond by August l, 2006 should also be included. President Allen advised that she has approximately 15 door prizes now. Ret. Lt. Brenda Bishop will draft a corporate letter to be mailed.

Marissa Davis requested that we exchange e-mail addresses to maintain flow of information. Luncheon speaker and training will be decided on with further discussion.
